Ronda is one of the most spectacular cities in Spain. Built
on a ridge the two halves of the town are joined by a massive eighteenth century
stone bridge spanning an impressive gorge below. It was one of the last
Moorish bastions of power and only fell to the Christians in 1485. In
the town there is a palace which was once home to King Ferdinand and Queen
Isabella who were the paymasters of Christopher Columbus.
